I'm pleased to say that after a BUSY weekend of fundraising (pics to follow soon), I'm so nearly there with my trekstock target - hurrah!
And so with 93% of my target reached, it kind of feels like I'm winning...
(NB: this is not me. Regretfully, I do not own a gold medal.)

Party Planning!
This Saturday, I'm hosting charity fundraiser no.2: race night and rock and roll bingo at mine.
All in all, I'm enjoying a bit of party planning on the side of my day job, but at the moment, with only 5 days to go, I feel a bit like this...
It'll all be worth it though!

A Little Bit of Richmond Park
It was blue skies in Richmond park this weekend, when Sheena, Alice and I stepped out for an afternoon walk.
It was a gorgeous, sunny day so our 8 miles didn't feel too much like hard work. We even stopped and had a picnic!
Here are some snaps I took...
And, we even saw geese! Bonus!
MILES WALKED: 8
BLISTERS: 0 (Hurrah - I've well and truly worn those walking boots in)
GEESE SPOTTED: 24, approx.
DAYS TO GO: 51!

Roll up! Roll up!
As well as forging ahead with my training, these past few weeks have been spent madly organising a super-duper office raffle for my Burton Menswear colleagues. And finally it's all coming together...
Thanks to the generosity of the companies I've contacted, and general good of people (aww), I've secured some AMAZING prizes...
WIN...
£300 spa day voucher
£50 bar spend at The Temperance
£25 voucher for Lola's Cupcakes
£25 voucher for Wahanda
And one's you lot may not be too excited about, but the Burton clan 100% will...
Win Wez's office for the day (there's no better location in NW1 to hot-desk from)
5 x Fast track passes to our LEGENDARY sample sales (browse at leisure, no need to sharpen those elbows...)
Hopefully I should raise lots of £'s for Trekstock in the process! Fingers crossed...

Trek Training
Walk number two was with a PROPER trek training group, and a whopping 17 miles over and across the Surrey Hills!
This one was fast paced, really steep in places, and very, very muddy. 80% of the day was spent walking in the rain (hello, frizzy hair!) but it was surprisingly enjoyable. There were lots of people there training for Mount Kilamanjaro and Everest Base Camp so we were all chatting along the way, and swapping stories.
I tried hard to take some pics for you lot, but it was tricky. We only stopped for 10 mins at the top of this hill, which was pretty much just enough time to scoff a sandwich (tuna, if you're interested)
Look at the sky! Eep!
We saw quite a few cyclists on the way round. They were also muddy.
My walking boots were so grubby after the walk, I had to change into my trainers before driving home. Look how splattered my leggings are!
Next in terms of training will be attempting two long-ish walks back-to-back. Now, just to find that free weekend...
SO, THE STATS;
MILES WALKED: 17
BLISTERS: 1 new (4 in total)
COWS SPOTTED: None
CYCLISTS DODGED: Approx 18
DAYS TO GO: 62!

Team T-shirt!
I've just received my trek t-shirt - thanks team Trekstock!
Designed by Henry Holland, I like it.
(Team Trekstock, will you be offended if I don't wear it for the whole 8 days?)
I don't want to smell.
People might not want to share a tent with me!

13 Miles
Guys and girls, this is my first serious walk: 13 miles.
...Yeahhh, so it's probably not the most beneficial way to begin a long walk, but a cup of Costa's finest was essential. It was 9am on Sunday morning and we'd been en-route to the meeting point in the lush Surrey countryside for an hour.
See? Essential.
This is my mum, I roped her into walking with me today. She was also in need of a coffee.
So, we arrive, set off and thankfully it's all blue skies :)
Ahh, doesn't it look nice?
Putting one foot in front of the other...(new boots getting grubby)
We spy a few cows along the way! MOOOOO...
Mum takes a sly pic of me at lunch (we're up to 8 miles by this point so still feeling fresh-ish)
And, erm...the rest is un-photographable (or rather, we just didn't photograph it). The walk got much tougher shortly after this point, and we just had to knuckle down and get on with it, dead seriously, like.
I swear for the last 3 miles, it felt like my feet were on fire!
No joke.
Training-wise, I definitely have a long way to go!
To summarise, the stats;
MILES WALKED: 13
COWS SPOTTED: 10ish
BLISTERS COUNTED: 3 (I'll spare you the pictures)
MIDGY BITES: 8 (and they're huge!)
DAYS TO GO: 71 (AHH!)
Until next time people...

Little Boots
If a girls gonna go a-walking, she needs some new boots. Here's mine!
Admittedly, they're not my usual style, but they'll do the job nicely (and I can't very well trek the Sahara in my spangly flip flops can I?)
Thanks to Sarah at Millets in Sutton, for helping me pick this pair - you were incredibly patient and put up with a wave of questions!

Hello!
Hi, I'm Vicky, and this September I'll be trekking across the Sahara desert to raise money for Trekstock.
Join me in my journey, follow the blood, sweat and tears as I do my bit for this fantastic charity!
